June 13 at noon the excursion began on Belle Isle. The next 24+ hours the event morphed through the streets of Detroit. Picking up characters and performances evolving on its journey. Our goal - to bring awareness and assistance to those in need on the morning of June 14 at a vacant lot located at Martin Luther King Blvd and Third Ave in the Cass Corridor of Detroit.

A Celebration Of African American Aesthetics

313FAD is assembling the fashion show to take place during the opening celebration at Russell Gallery. There is a new space being opened and the first installation of artwork is taking place the month of February. During the opening we will have jazz music, fine art exhibition, and a fashion show.

My Wish For 2009

Russell Gallery is excited to bring together artists from around the Midwest and ask the question of them - what is your wish for 2009?

The gallery will show work from January 24 through February 21. The opening day show will have platform fashion modeling by talent from the Abandoned In Detroit fashion showcase project. Music will be from DJs Gabe Real, Thomas Emmanuel, and Marcus Beier. The art exhibition brings together more than 30 artists in a variety of mediums. An exclusive VIP area will feature free food and flowing drinks, well worth the low price of $10. General admission to the gallery is free and it is open to all ages.

The gallery is located in the SE corner of Russell Bazaar. The bazaar has an international flair with many great shops and every week the mix of shops present changes. Fashion designers from the Abandoned In Detroit project should contact Fuzzytek for some VALUABLE late-breaking news exclusive for them! This weekend is certain to bring great crowds and a lot of fun. So if you want to get your party started before night falls - the Russell Bazaar and Gallery's My Wish For 2009 exhibition are a fantastic way to work your way into evening.

Abandoned In Detroit

The curator has made some great arrangements with me and we will have not only fashion show - there will be retail space available for designers from the project that are in the fashion show. Details are in the call for Abandoned In Detroit talent.
